Wrexham’s Baby Brave have rightfully claimed the c86 crown with their infectious, guitar-driven noise-pop. Drawing on influences from PJ Harvey, Brian Eno, My Bloody Valentine and Talking Heads, this fearless-four-piece are pushing for a gutsier, heavier sound for their highly anticipated second E.P. ‘Tacky Birthday’, set for release in Autumn 2015. The success of the first offering, a four track E.P. ‘King Horse’ (2014 Drum With Our Hands) soon had the attention of BBC Radio Wales, as well as grabbing the band festival appearances and regular gigs across the UK that included support slots for Bo Ningen, Stealing Sheep, H Hawkline, Slow Club, Colorama and Gulf. Founding member and lead vocalist Emmi Manteau guided the Braves through various incarnations, from a folk/pop/art duo with an array of name changes and adorable tunes, to a full band with guitarist Steve Nicholls (Camera), Mike Jones formerly of Mowbird on Drums, and Siân O’Connell debuting on Bass. Baby Brave’s cocktail concoctions of pop music continue to intoxicate audiences across the UK.
