Glen Matlock

UPDATE: Due to unfortunate circumstances, Glen Matlock will not be able to make his set at Velvet Coalmine on Saturday. However, we hope he’ll be able to make it to Blackwood when the festival returns.

We will now be welcoming TWO bands to the Carling Stage ahead of Slaves and Henrys Funeral Shoe.

The Sick Livers are South Wales’ glam punk anti-heroes. Described by Pure Rawk as “coming on like one part Turbonegro, one part Zodiac Mindwarp and one part Backyard Babies.”

Renowned for their rabble rousing live show led by the irrepressible (and possibly certifiable) Ginge Knievil, this gutter level rock ‘n’ roll outfit is completed by the dual sleazy guitars of VJ and DJ, the pounding floor toms of Matty and the dirty bass groove of Dai.

“Timeless immediate, and utterly vital the Dead Shed Jokers are a rare beast – at once original and yet somehow not of this time” (Robbie Edwards – NME/The Fly)

“When a band can soak up as many influences as these boys obviously have and process them in such a way that they can deliver a sound as individual as this, then that’s simply a great thing..’Peyote Smile’ is a standout debut record” (UberRock)
